YESSYMPHONIC TOUR

YES, formed in 1967, has been on the leading edge of progressive rock music for over three decades. YES has created some of rock's most enduring hits including "Roundabout," "Seen All Good People" and "Owner Of A Lonely Heart." To date, the band has sold over 28 million albums worldwide including the unforgettable albums Fragile and Close To The Edge.

Despite their considerable studio prowess, British supergroup Yes have always been most famous for their unparalleled live shows. Yes pioneered the use of lasers, elaborate fantasy art inspired sets, "In-the-Round," revolving stages, the best sound engineering in the business and of course, their extraordinary musicianship. They've been blowing audiences away for over three decades. But no performance is more legendary than the band's March 21, 1970, Queen Elizabeth Hall gig. Of the hundreds of shows Yes have played, that one night in 1970 is the only time that Yes performed their sweeping orchestral rock with an actual orchestra. With each passing year, the legend of the Queen Elizabeth Hall gig has grown larger, and fans' desire to see an orchestral Yes perform their classic songs has reached a fevered pitch. In the summer of 2001, Yes will answer the call.

Yes' best known and most revered "classic lineup," featuring vocalist Jon Anderson, guitar wizard Steve Howe, bassist/co-founder Chris Squire and longtime drummer and percussionist Alan White set to work on a new studio album earlier this year. The idea was to replace the traditional keyboard role with a full orchestra. The band collaborated with Emmy-award-winning television and motion picture ("The Contender") composer Larry Groupé. It was an inspired union, yielding one of the most powerful musical statements of their career. There was only one logical next step --to perform live with an orchestra once again.

With Larry Groupé arranging and conducting, Yes will tour the United States this summer performing their best loved classic hits such as "Roundabout," "I've Seen All Good People," "Owner of a Lonely Heart,"  "And You And I" and others, along with selections from their stunning new album with a full 60 piece symphony orchestra! The 20 date summer US tour will include stops at the Hollywood Bowl (with the Hollywood Bowl orchestra), San Diego (with the San Diego Symphony orchestra) and Atlanta (with the Atlanta Symphony orchestra) and Thirty years later, fans will finally get the chance to witness the champions of symphonic rock perform this music as it was meant to be heard. Something tells us that the fans will be talking about this for a long, long time.

Yes create sort of a classical modern pop: a wacky mix of Stravinsky, Moody Blues and Vangelis scores...Their vocal harmonies have always been one of rock's most epic sounds. -Los Angeles Times, 1997

"Yes has aged better than fellow classic rock icons the Who and the Rolling Stones because its music has always been based on experimentation and virtuosity." -Chicago Sun Times, 1998
