So for the first time, the progressive legends are going to tour with an orchestra this summer. The "Yessymphonic" tour, as it is being called, will kick off in Kelseyville, CA on July 28th.  In the meantime, Yes is hard at work completing their latest studio album. Last reports mentioned that the band had been writing and recording some longer pieces, possibly to the extent of a full-disc epic. Though the band is known for expansive musical suites such as "Close to the Edge," "The Gates of Delirium," and "Awaken," they have rarely produced such type pieces in recent years outside of 1996's "That That Is" and 1997's "Mind Drive." Long-time Yes fans and diehards welcome the possibility of a return to more involved, extended works. It is still unclear who will be handling the keyboard duties, if anyone. Rumors have surfaced that the orchestra will take the place of the traditional keyboard parts. In late 2000, it was announced that Igor Khoroshev had left the band, but no replacement had yet been named. Due recent health problems, it is unlikely that keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman will return to the fold. Other players in Yes histroy include Geoff Downes (Asia, Buggles) and Patrick Moraz (Refugee, The Moody Blues).  Tickets are beginning to go on sale online for the confirmed orchestral shows, and additional shows are being announced weekly.
