Jon Anderson Masters the Fragile Art of Long-Term Success

Jon Anderson has captivated audiences for over three decades with the extraordinary range of his talent--he's a musician, singer/songwriter, philanthropist New Age advocate and visual artist. As co-founder of Yes in 1968 along with Chris Squire, Jon brought a fresh, angelic vocal quality to rock music and helped pioneer the "art rock" sound that originated in the late 60's. Other than a short period away from the band in the early 80's (when Yes producer and Buggles founder Trevor Horn took over vocal duties), Jon has been the lead singer and main figurehead for the band. Still a commanding vocalist (and perhaps never sounding better), Jon executes complex melodies flawlessly and delivers intense and dynamic live performances, as witnessed at the Masterworks show at the Mars Music Amphitheatre. This year's tour gave Jon the chance to play a variety of roles in the band including vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, and percussionist.

Tech Note: Jon's equipment is maintained by Yes techs, Shooz (guitar), John Walsh (percussion) and Will Alexander (keys), who gave us insight into Jon's tools of choice.
