Yes Announces New Tour for the Spring

Singer Jon Anderson of Yes has dealt with plenty of plays on the band's name, but the one he hates is by critics: "Yes Was Maybe." He says a critic would put that on a review of one of their shows, even though 10,000 other people were going crazy.

Anderson says he would hate for someone to determine an opinion about their show based on one critic's review. "I hated that idea that whoever read the paper the following day would assume that he knew what he was talking about," Anderson told AP Radio.

Anderson decided around 1974 that he wouldn't read reviews any more unless they were good. "I'm no fool, I don't want to bring myself down. If I've just done a good show I don't want to hear a bad review, I want to hear a good review," Anderson told AP Radio.

Anderson will have plenty of chances to read reviews good or bad because Yes has announced it will kick off a tour April 15 in Seattle with the classic lineup of Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman and Alan White. This week, Yes also released a two-CD set of hits called "Ultimate Yes," as well as a DVD called "Yesspeak."
