YES - "Magnification"
By Ian D'Giff
The newest Yes lineup delivers in bold fashion, as the band says bye-bye to
keyboardist Igor Khoroshev and hello to his replacement, conductor Larry
Groupe and the San Diego Symphony. The musicians (Chris Squire, Steve Howe,
Alan White and Jon Anderson) still have their stunning chops, and the
orchestrations have grown grander, though, disappointingly, the band often
gets lost behind the pomp and circumstance of it all. Peak experiences
include the beautiful "Give Love Each Day," the majestic "Dreamtime" and
Squire's lead vocals on "Can You Imagine." But stay away from "Don't Go"
and "In the Presence Of."
