Yes - Keys To The Studio
By David Quantick
Like a foul alignment of all the black planets, this collection of '95-'97 materialculled
from the Keys To Ascension I and II albums, saw all the important members of Yes --
Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe -- reunited to wreak havoc on the world. Chords
are played at random, tune change tempo for no other reason than that is what happens in
symphonies, and tracks are long just for longness's sake. And while Footprints thunders
along healthily, there is plenty of rubbish like Mind Drive and the meaningless Bring Me
The Power. The fact that they had a hit single as recently as 15 years ago should serve as
a warning to us all that this sort of thing could strike at any moment.
