Bubble House
No, it's not where the Teletubbies live. Roger Dean, a Manhattan artist, has
designed a home that takes on a very organic shape that some compare to a
caterpillar or huge mushrooms. The rooms have curved, rather than
angular walls, and the whole thing is designed to appeal to a child's need for
safety and security. "I asked kids what they don't like about where they
sleep and they told me they didn't like space that could contain a threat around
a corner," says Dean. The homes are constructed out of plaster, pumice
stone insulation and concrete."
